I agree Minter, it’s not natural in so many ways. I guess I’m “old school” in that I would prefer to take charge of my schedule and organize first hand. I also believe speaking directly with someone is fantastic way to provide top notch customer service! There are many useful ideas/ways robots can be instrumental such as the loading and storing of heavy items in a variety of industries. I guess there will always be extremes but there is lots to be said for good old customer service and natural communication between “humans”.

You are so right that there is value in the human to human interaction, messy and complex though it may be. The temptation to delegate and automate these relationships to an efficient and measurable level will surely have its fans. And a certain success. But the imperfect human journey is worth so much more.

Your comment makes me think of the doc film "The Armor of Light." For sure, being aware of your full self and able to handle all aspects of who you are is a good starting point for having a strong and honest conversation.
