Yes, we are by nature paradoxical beings, made up of contradictions and opposites. I am reactionary conservative and partly trans-humanist post progressive, I know once a technology makes possible something, even not ethical, it will be done ie: surrogate motherhood, etc...

on your remark by great grand dad : And, just as my great grandfather admonished his senatorial colleagues back in 1924, the divide just seems to be getting wider and neither side wishes to budge from their pedestal. May I add a pinch of Winston's salt : -:)

I feel you really described well what is happening in the world today, and thought, wow, what a great topic for a world wide team camp, :) would be, “Living with Opposite” it brings to mind a quote I like from CS Lewis “Humility is not thinking less of yourself but thinking of yourself less”. So very true, we seek freedom but must realize limitations...

I feel it’s not just certain groups that need to express them. I believe we all have to discover who we are, individually, internally, as you mentioned. For me and I’m sure others, it’s always work in progress throughout our lives. The “Summer of Love Era” 1967. Love, I feel is a missing piece in our world and from my religious views, I believe, God is love and that love is a decision not only a feeling. Patience, understanding, love and compassion, I feel is a beautiful gift from above. I realize others have different beliefs, vies and I respect that and would hope I’m not judged for my beliefs and would be respected as well. From me, it comes down to individual freedom that starts from within. I feel a pure gift.
